A term coined by Fluxus in the 1960s, Intermedia art refers to creative work that blends, overlaps, or exists in the spaces between established art forms. Rather than focusing on a single medium like drawing, digital art, artucation, voice work, electronic music, documentary, video, fandom culture or writing, my practice seeks to fuse these modes of expression into one unified whole. I favor process over product, exploring how creation itself becomes a portrait of experience, and how many arts can be faceted into a holistic, unified field. The result is a constantly genre-defying hybrid that gives rise to new and original models. One of my most important media is context itself — integrating environment, audience, and social conditions as living elements of the artwork. As an artist, my main inspiration has come from the visionary & psychedelic art scene. Although these words describe my art well, I found that intermedia was the most defining term. 

My name is Ba, though you may call me by many affectionate nicknames : Ba’sie ◊ Ba’Ba ◊ Bae ◊ Babe ◊ BB ◊ B or Bee ◊ Bay’Bee ◊ Ba’bie (Barbie) ◊ Bee’Bee’s ◊ Ba’Bee ◊ Unity. I am a visionary and psychedelic intermedia artist who lives, in many ways, full-time within this website as my universe. The creative console of building UNITY LIFE has become more deeply familiar to me than even social media — it is not separate from my life, but an expression of it.

Following my Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, studying topics like creative writing, visual arts, philosophy and anthropology — with a major in Sociology (most interested in the third world) — I continued into advanced studies and teacher trainings in ecological design that led me to become a Visionary Ecology educator for All Ages & Abilities. 

The most important path in my life, however, has been my long journey of becoming a traditionally trained Ayahuasqera Curandera Perfumera — a master healer of the Ayahuasca psychedelic plant medicine traditions, specializing in healing perfumes and tobacco — with permission from the Shipibo-Conibo traditional medicine culture of Peru. Embracing this rare calling has been by far the best decision of my life. But Ayahuasca is not accessible for most people — and so my art translates psychedelic wisdom into accessiblility focused artforms that can be lived and embodied — completely outside of the use of psychedelics.

To continue the story from the previous section : At the time of my graduation as a full fledged Ayahuasqera, I was also — intrinsically to the medicine's guidance, healing and revelations — initiated into a particular branch of mainstream entertainment media. For me, this branch centers around the band NIRVANA (starring Kurt Cobain), as explored in the foundational UNITY LIFE resource, FACET 1(73) ◊ ORIGINAL. All UNITY LIFE resources revolve around this one key resource found in the navigation bar at 27(72). 

In response to the life-changing events of my graduation with Ayahuasca, and with ongoing guidance from the plant teachers of this medicine, I embraced the complex path of bringing my work into the public sphere through the intermedia art-education of UNITY LIFE. This work aims to make accessible the critical insights the medicine has revealed to me about this media branch. In extension to this media lens on art, ecology and psychedelic wisdom, much of my work has taken form as what could be described as fan art — though more accurately, a deeply integrated fusion with fandom culture itself.
