The Mirror Muse ◊ Reflecting the Timeless Zeitgeist of Dita Von Teese
◊💎 As a model and photographer — a perceptually themed artist of the mirror who specifically models the lingerie of Dita Von Teese, my icon — I felt deeply compelled to share some of the reasoning behind my choice of artistic alignment with her original textile art and the larger inspirations that come along with it. Dita is best known for her hugely influential emphasis on vintage 40s and 50s designs, yet she is also a true visionary artist in my view — a personality of intrigue who has provided me with incredibly resonant inspiration to span not just the past but the deep future.
◊🕰️ When I first discovered Dita Von Teese, it was immediately obvious to me, based on my media studies of related artists around her, that she is not merely emphasizing the 40s and 50s — she is acting as a cultural leader in the theme of psychological integration between past and present. It’s not just that those were the “good old days,” but that despite the radical transformations of the technological and surveillance eras, new models for how we relate in the modern world have been mysteriously the same — perhaps even more elegantly woven into our cultural fabric — long before the technology itself was released.
The Integration of Eras With the Information & Surveillance Age
◊🌹 Dita has verbally expressed that modern liberties around sexuality — like tolerance and the abandonment of stigma surrounding sexual freedoms of many kinds — should be deeply woven into our new wave of nostalgia for those periods. Yet the unspoken undercurrent of her association with Marilyn Manson and other thematically related artists reveals a lifelong depth of interest in themes like surveillance, complex information architectures, and even secret technology as a form of present-futurism.
◊💫 In this way, her relationships with past-present-future contrasts within her art — her photographs, performances, and appearances — nuance the viewer to consider her quiet yet profound insights. Combined with her long history of interviews that explore such themes with grace and humor, Dita becomes not just an enchantress of the 40s and 50s, but a muse of universal timelessness. She highlights the creative human potential in all eras : to navigate and adapt to challenge and socio-cultural dysfunction, to rise above controversy, and to shine our light with iconic freedom.
Visionary Cultural Leadership ◊ Retro Nostalgia of my 1982 Birth Year
◊🦋 This is a form of leadership that acts as a container for cultural evolution, and it’s something I personally strive to emulate in my own way. Since I began modeling Dita’s lingerie, I made the decision to infuse my lifestyle with retro nostalgia for my birth year, 1982 (and surrounding years), as a poetic celebration of biological life — a central theme of the UNITY LIFE Mystery School. At the same time, UNITY LIFE deeply investigates futuristic technology through The 16 KEYS SUPPORT TOOL.
The 16 KEYS and the Science-Technology of Miracles
◊🔮🔬 This series of 16 visionary concept models describes categories of miracles that, in many cases, have been reported throughout ancient history — yet are best articulated today through the lens of applied science and modern technology. Currently, the videos in the 16 KEYS series are open-ended concept models, but earlier videos from UNITY LIFE Mystery School — no longer available online — explored the theory that what some call a miracle may also be related to DNA activity that commercially driven modern science has yet to address.
◊🧬 Science technology is the study of natural phenomena — such as specific DNA activity — in such a way that they can be understood and repeated under measured conditions. Yet this form of technology is not limited to machines or instruments. This way, the future-technology themework of the 16 KEYS as a creative artifact integrates a wealth of historical and biological relevance, spanning as far back in time as human DNA has been biologically active. These theories apply to the wider ecology as well, not just the human story, making it a tool for ecological understanding of life.
Ancient-Future Technology ◊ Genetic Biological Life as Spirit
◊🕊📺 All this said, my decision to emulate Dita Von Teese by selecting a vintage retro era surrounding 1982, alongside modeling her lingerie, has expanded the meaning of zeitgeist — “the spirit of the age” — to encompass the timelessness of all periods. Through meditation, my personal view of spirit has transcended the notion of separateness between spirit and biological life. I see the activity of spirit as synonymous with DNA activity itself. In that way, centering on my birth year becomes a form of deep art.
The Time Code of 1982 ◊ Perception, Cinema & The Retro Lens
◊💾 In embodying this, I wear large framed glasses from 1982 — from a time before progressive lenses could be made without two large panels built into massive frames — reminiscent of my themes of perception and the eyes, explored in the 16 KEYS. I also own a 1982 GMC motorhome with many original decorative features preserved. And recently, I watched the 1982 classic Tron as part of a movie marathon that continued to the 2010 Part 2, and finale’d with the 2025 Tron: Ares in IMAX 3D. As actor Jared Leto mentioned, 1982 was the dawn and digital arts in cinema (and a very early form of AI was actually used in the making of it).
Also, I do the above vintage 1984 workout every morning as my exercise routine. My sister Katie was born in 1984 and so I use this VHS gem to celebrate both our lives
◊☎️ To top it all off, I bought a 1982 telephone to model alongside Dita’s red Nocturnelle lingerie set and promote my new psychic hotline. In exploring Dita’s fandom, I’ve immersed myself in the arts of pinup models she promotes who emulate the 20s to the 60s — so many of whom posed with vintage telephones. When I first discovered these images, they rang deeply for me of a psychic bond between people that transcends the use of technology such as the telephone to confirm these natural networks of intuitive interconnection between all life.
The Psychic Telephone Line ◊ The Dynamic innuendo of Cultural Evolution
◊🌐 Much like the natural ecology communicates indepth without verbal code, humans too feel a deep intuitive connection. I always knew those retro telephones weren’t connected to landlines — the entire message was spoken without words. I related this to the miracles of the 16 KEYS, inspired by the art of awareness that this represented. Laughter ensued, however, when I noticed how many of these models had also been shooting outside hotels and motels — and I began to wonder if I had missed the point in some cases 😂😂.
◊💋 Subtle innuendo and flirty poses of these luscious models inspire the fantasy of a call girl, while social codes relate the dynamic bottom line that not every model is avalable for sex. The mystery of who may be abundantly interested in something physical based on projection of photos like this can catalyze experimentation and new forms of social ethics. Take me, for example : I advertise my psychic hotline fully dressed, and the lingerie modelling with the phone does not feature the ad, because it is not a pillow talk line. That said, I’m also a non-clinical intimacy counsellor, and I sometimes bring that rich skillset into my intuitive work as a retro inspired psychic.
1982 ◊ The Mirrored Dawning of an Icon
◊💽 1982 was the ideal time for me to enter the world — eight pounds and two ounces of future technology born into a simpler old time. We were fresh out of the psychedelic, sexual, and avant-garde revolutions of the 70s, and dawning into a new frontier of digital art, the internet, post-punk, and many more cultural free radicals that would shape my universe. That same year, Dita Von Teese (then Heather Renée Sweet) was growing up in a fairly conservative household, captivated by vintage Hollywood films, 1950s pin-up imagery, and golden-age glamour. If she could have known of this archive that year, she would have been so inspired.
Kurt Cobain and Jared Leto ◊ Post-Analog Neo Time Capsules
◊💎 Meanwhile, fifteen-year-old Kurt Cobain was immersed in art and music — drawing constantly, writing lyrics, and listening to bands like The Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Led Zeppelin, and The Melvins. He was experimenting with recording and forming friendships that would shape Nirvana’s early years. I wish that, at the time of my birth, he could have known what the stork had delivered to him : an artist who would one day teach, through UNITY LIFE Mystery School, how artful celebration of life can serve as a radical cultural medicine for suicide prevention.
◊📼 That same year Jared Leto of “Tron : Ares” was only 12 years old. He was immersed in the arcade video games of Tron, and proceeded from there to the movie theatre to witness the visually stunning 1982 Tron original which opened his eyes to digital moving picture arts like never before. The destiny of that moment was beyond his dreams, leading him to eventually act in the third part of the Tron movie saga, completely filmed for IMAX 3D. As a musical artist himself, lead singer of the band 30 Seconds to Mars, which deeply investigates the theme of futuristic technology, I feel very emotionally and spiritually connected to his artistic zeitgeist in this way.
Conclusion ◊ A Personal & Sentimental Revelation of Creativity & Spirit
◊🔑🕊 This is a powerfully sentimental archive for me — one that speaks of my body and life, the symbolism and meaning of my lifestyle, and so many FACETS of my work as a visionary and psychedelic intermedia artist. It also shares of the very meaningful relationship between myself and Dita Von Teese, as well as these other artists of the UNITY LIFE Branch. As a young woman in my 20’s evolving in spirituality, I used to repeat the mantra : “There is only the one eternal now”. Yet met with these stars, I have found so far more intricate wisdom — bridging abstract realizations of meditation with the tangible expressions of these cultural artforms.
◊🌈 UNITY LIFE Mystery School runs from that same current — a living dream that spirit is not elsewhere, but biologically and genetically present within and throughout us, continuously materializing itself through the art of being alive as our collective medicine of beauty, adaptive resilience, integration, and evolution.
