Digital Artist
Digital Art quickly became one of my favourite artistic mediums in my early 20's (2002 >) when I audited a course from Seneca College in New Media Design and took all available Adobe Suite courses from lynda.com . Unfortunately, most of my work has been commercial and there are only a select few works I still plan to exhibit on this page eventually. My work for The GENE KEYS is one of so few of the brands I designed for which today are deeply and fully aligned with UNITY LIFE Mystery School. Other digital art for previous incarnations of UNITY LIFE (called SpiralLotus and Light Science,) have been lost along with a lost hard drive at 2 distinct periods of my life. However, the journey continues. Stay tuned for more.
Ecological Visual Design
Educational & Career History of Ba Adonai in Digital Art as Visionary Ecology
One of my main entrepreneurial careers has involved graphic and web / print design in combination with ecological consultation. On and off, since 2002, I have always run a business providing these services. As my education in Permaculture ecological design developed, I made it my specialty to apply the curriculum to branding design itself. Not only the visual imagery but also the language of how the brand communicates was always consulted on with my clients in matters of how this could be ecologically contextualized. I was best friends with my Permaculture teacher, so not only did I pursue this through our constant engagement in classroom settings but also this was routinely discussed indepth between us as a personal passion.
This Permaculture mentor for my diploma suggested that I might make my specialty visual design communication which is a Permaculture diploma specialty category. I was advised that I had earned my diploma already, which is official by Permaculture Institute standards even without formal certification — but I might like to further officialize that by providing documentation to the Institute directly, of what my teacher had already meticulously reviewed for purposes of my diploma. This would gain me the certificate on paper. It takes a lot of work, so I decided instead to pursue my paper diploma through the specialty of education, as that more greatly represented my passion to invest into ongoing educational goals.
As a gradual process between 2017 and 2022, I slowly completely shed the entire term Permaculture from my art, replacing it eventually with the term Visionary Ecology. In this way, I abandoned the rigid curricular guidelines that I felt were incompatible with my destiny as an artist and healer. Most prominently, I felt that Permaculture's tendency away from spirituality and psychedelic plant medicine was most incompatible with my work. For Permaculture, these two topics are considered taboo, as they cause less accessibility to their outreach format. For myself, these two issues are deeply intrinsic to my art, and will not need to be separated from my oeuvre in order to ensure accessibility. In fact, quite the opposite.
