Field Trip With Sky
I really love the hair salon that I chose for getting my hair done. It's called Field Trip. The stylist I chose is Sky (and she's totally professional and lovely and ambitious about getting the results I'm invisioning) — but they are probably all amazing. The place is themed around unicorns, to advertise the idea of getting your hair bleached white and then adding pretty colors. I chose it partially because it's so close by to me — but also more largely because it's a good quality salon yet with prices that are under control. I'm collecting cool photos of the place every time I go, and I'd love to keep sharing my photo bunches and features here as they come out.
Second Visit ◊ Bleaching
This was my very first time packing an actual meal into my tin lunchbox. I was going to be there for like 5-7 hours, so I decided to theme myself out in packing as if I was going on a school field trip. Don't worry, there was more waffles than this (lol). I just didn't want to look too much like a "pig" as my mother would have called it (lol).
I really thought Sky was more than professional. I wished I could have tipped her much more than the $20 I did, as she graciously spent like an extra hour or 90 minutes on me just because things were practically taking longer than is normal cause my hair is so thick. She is a very outgoing person and she enjoys socializing, and I felt so comfortable chatting with her all day. I watched her work so well. She was very efficient and focused on constantly getting everything done so nicely and in order and fast. But the larger point is that she has the real skills it takes to preserve my hair quality through all this. As well, she was the genius who had been searching online for example photos of good haircuts, and she showed me a gorgeous example that totally fit my dream. I look forward to getting that from her by email.
First Visit ◊ Strand Test
Here's the photo of the strand test that Sky did for me after our first 15 min consult. I really admired her commitment to excellence in forcing me to test a strand before we even go forward. It made the experience so much more comfortable to get her support.
