The 7 of 9 ⨺ SOLVE COAGULA Mind Map System (Prototype) is a new card system prototype found through the main navigation bar of the website. It is called a system rather than a set of cards, because it includes within it many sets of cards. One feature of the new system is that, as an optional layer, The 64 CARDS can be integrated into the process of its use. The 7 of 9 features a game board of 9 diamond shapes, within each, 2 triangular cards can be placed. Diamond cards could be placed into these areas to explore card implications. When designing the prototype, ensuring that each card would be a perfect equilateral triangle, I realized that to my surprise, The 64 CARDS are not actually composed of that exact geometry.
These diamonds were specially crafted to follow the Fibonacci Golden Ratio, a precise mathematical equation found throughout some of the most beautiful examples of nature such as roses and snail shells. I had actually assumed so far that miraculously, this geometric layout had produced two equilateral triangles — but by physically comparing the cards, I realized it doesn't.
I've thought so much about The 64 CARDS over the years since it was created, and often felt that the exact Fibonacci proportions would not necessarily have to be met in order to convey the same degree of beauty, if it were only altered slightly. I've also found much resonance in the poetry which has lent to the 7 of 9, as to the significance within this set of 2 equilateral triangles being combined to make the diamond shape. So as a result of this discovery, I've decided to change the shape of The 64 CARDS to match The 7 of 9.
As you can see in the image below this paragraph, I've used my wallpaper as a measuring guide to investigate these proportions. When calculating The 7 of 9, I used a mathematical guide to show me an equilateral triangle. I discovered that my wallpaper follows that geometric layout exactly. This way, you can see through this image how one of The 64 CARDS, compared to the wallpaper, is not quite lining up perfectly.
For over a year — or even two years now — I've been intending to do a new version of the entire design of The 64 CARDS. As much as I love the current version, I've found over time that while they all serve the educational purpose, some of them seem more aesthetically pleasing than others. I've actually probed the set, and found that a perfect 32 — exactly half of the set — could use an aesthetic boost in my opinion. Of course, this is a challenge, as it would have to be done without faltering from the educational value of the shapes. I'm confident that I can do this, and look forward to it. This challenge is very achievable.
In this inevitable, long planned re-design of the set, I have now decided to actually change the shape of all the cards to match The 7 of 9, along with an upgrade to the overall design of half the card faces. In fact, The 16 KEYS SUPPORT TOOL has also been specifically sized to the Fibonacci proportions of The 64 CARDS, and since that set will be redesigned as well to work into The 7 of 9 in a whole new shape, I'll of course also be redesigning those with this same rule in mind.
As a sidenote, The 72 FACETS (IN 144) has also been overhauled to match the proportions of The 64 CARDS too, but this set will not be integrating with The 7 of 9, so I'm in no rush to change those. That said, it will happen someday, since they should ideally all match precisely.
