In The 7 of 9 Process Artifact Journal, there has been a post which was in desperate need of an edit. This edit has been brought to you by quite a bit of personal emotional labour. All I did was delete something but it mattered. In 7 OF 9 FORMAT IDEAS AND A CALL FOR FUNDING there was some information about my request for a job from the band 30 Seconds to Mars, and in there there is a story of when their staff member paid me to coach me about this job opportunity and what to know in sending this request to the band.
I think the band did send him to me so that I could learn a huge lesson about their staff which REALLY HAS greatly informed me about the reasons why I would make a great part of their team. This staff member behaved in unauthorized ways which have been very damaging, and this was such an act of violation against the band. I have learned so much from that experience (again, the biggest lesson being that I'd be perfect for a role on their team).
But through quite a bit of effort, I finally came to the decision that I will never again be willing to be paid by them for any contract which is mediated in some way by any staff member of theirs. Before that post used to say that I would be open to working with their team for the purposes of streamlining communication and creative process, but I am now closed to that. So it would have to be a position in which I'm trusted to just freely flow with my tasks without supervision, and I think I am trusted more than enough for that, unlike some people.
