ultrasound done

Regarding my 3 part ultrasound checking all my organs and the pelvic region searching for internal bleeding of organs, fibroids or anything like that, hernia or cyst, and fistula or cyst. 

I had a crazy time with the ultrasound today but it all worked out. I called them at 9am and asked when exactly my appointment is, and it turned out it was for 10am (not 1pm as I had vaguely remembered) and I was supposed to drink water at 8am but I hadn't done that until 9:15. And turns out I was supposed to have been fasting from a couple hours earlier the previous night, although thankfully I hardly ate any fat so that was all good for my pancreas anyway. I only had .7g of fat at 1am and it turned out to be no problem. They said they will clearly be able to see if the pancreas is blocked by fat I've eaten and they will rebook if that's the case.

I was totally worried it wasn't going to work as well with the ultrasound due to that, but they did advise that it's fine. It's just that I don't always believe testing specialists that things are all that optimized necessarily due to some previous experiences I've had where they didn't ask me to optimize in certain ways that would definitely help. But I'm sure this time it was OK. It does all depend on the type of test. 

The thing that happened was that for my pelvic ultrasound (the most crucial in my mind at least, to get maximum accuracy possible with an ultrasound) my bladder was not full enough to do it. So the practitioner said that I have two choices : I can either reschedule the ultrasound or do the whole thing through the vagina, and luckily the vaginal ultrasound is known as usually significantly more accurate or should I say telling. So I was actually glad it worked out with a bladder mistake to cause this because I'm very desperate right now to learn as much about a possible fistula as possible this way. I fully consented to that and was relieved to have it, and it was not a bother to have this whole long speculative indepth ultrasound done with like a device up my vagina (lol). Other than just pretty tense, but all good overall.

And they were pressing a lot on my abdomen to check for every organ but it was not that painful actually. They just have a wand device that they have to press onto the body and then speculatively feel around until they get the right visual angle to capture the information for each part they need to record. 

Anyway, so the practitioner said "The ultrasound was successful. I saw everything I need to see and I think I know the cause of your pain. But you'll have to talk to a doctor about that". And I have no idea if that's a real clue or not. I totally agree, a doctor is most definitely the one who would know (lol). But yeah in about a week I'll be seeing my doctor about the results and get back to you. 

By the way, I also heard from the colorectal surgeon / specialist and have an appointment for September 22nd. That's 2 days after my Foo Fighters concert, so as for deciding fates of when surgery will be scheduled and if it will be before or after the concert, we have one down of two. Any surgery for the pelvic area will be after. Now to find out about the fibroid surgery. I actually have a feeling that too will be after the concert. So, here's hoping I'm in good health for the 20th but at least likely not all bashed up right after a surgery or anything. 

Oh yeah and about the light headedness, it was really bad until I ate something after the ultrasound but once that went down and digested, I did feel all better again as expected :) I was relieved in the end that it was at 10am so that i wouldn't be waiting a long time while awake before I could eat anything.
