I was thinking about the price at the salon for getting rainbow highlights done in my bleached white hair now, which is $400 CAD for like the most minimum amount of rainbow highlights, only in the front, so therefore 5-600 for anything much more than that. From that, I started realizing, unlike bleaching my hair white, this is probably something I'm willing to brave doing for myself in order to save on the cost. I imagine the price for like foils, brushes, colors of dye, and all that, are probably high in itself, but obviously way lower than $400. I haven't researched the prices for that yet, cause I have to pay the rent twice in a row before I can get any special treats like this — so let's say getting the rent paid is just part of this manifestation.
Here's one inspo that I found which was interesting. For ease, I could just do one color per small strip of hair instead of painting a rainbow spectrum onto a chunk and it might look nice. Or totally paint it like a spectrum top to bottom, could look more clear in photos, so might be best.
What stars would I think of for this one? First and foremost, definitely 30 Seconds To Mars, because it was through meditating on them that I got the first stage of my hair transformation. Also, this will go towards an intermedia process piece I'm doing about their merch shirt, going through visual stags from AI generated models wearing thier shirt, to more and more real imagery of me wearing it in novel ways that look even more beautiful than what you might consider a normal ideal for a model to wear it. I'm sure they are "perfectionists" in a good way, and would appreciate that piece done up at the highest quality.
Secondly, NOW THAT I HAVE THE HAIR BLEACHED (and the extensions added), I would say NIRVANA as well because in relation to Kurt Cobain and my work which proposes that he is still alive, they are into things like a neo next gen version of the vintage 90's bleach blonde hair look like Courtney and Kurt — to symbolize that if Kurt were alive today, he would have evolved his style to epic extremes and gone into much more neo / visionary / interesting fashions by now.
In fact, if I ever became famous with my art about that, I think then Courtney would probably do something much more interesting with her hair at that point, as a reference to that idea. But for now, she's vintage classic, just obviously referring to the album BLEACH etc. And also I think Kurt would get into the idea that I'm really spiritual and stuff, so yeah — I'm like a rainbow unicorn or something (lol) haha. Cause I think he would love that unique type of artist working on stuff about NIRVANA — and that goes for the whole gang, including all of NIRVANA and Foo Fighters for sure. I really think NIRVANA appreciates that side of me, that I come from SUCH a hyper spiritual background and that's fascinating re: the art I create about Kurt Cobain.
For those not aware, Krist has been fully introduced to my work and offered a most positive response (and FYI I don't know for sure, but possibly also Dave / FF because I threw a present with the introduction onto the stage for them at a concert — maybe it was ushered to them after the show, maybe not). Courtney too — she also knows all about it and in her case that's from instagram.
