64 Visionary Ecology Strategies for All Ages & Abilities

Considering the importance of traditional psychedelic plant medicine such as Ayahuasca to The 72 FACETS (IN 144) — especially F. 1(73) ◊ ORIGINAL — I’ve found the need to address the issue that these medicines are directly inaccessible to most people for many reasons. Rare plant teacher medicines like Ayahuasca remain critically important to our culture, even in countries where they are illegal and impossible to legally regulate or safely access within current socio-cultural conditions. Public education about these radically healing stewards of our world is essential — but where should people turn once they discover this knowledge, if these medicines are not an option or the right choice for them?

Thankfully, as an Ayahuasquera — a traditional master healer trained in the Shipibo-Conibo Ayahuasca traditions of Peru — I have been taught by the plant teachers how to bring their healing to the world without the consumption of the plants themselves. The solution may sound almost too simple to believe : the healing wisdom of the medicine is one with the wisdom of the whole ecology. By listening to the universal voice that speaks throughout ecology, we are hearing the ancient wisdom of traditional psychedelic medicines. This is why I created The 64 CARDS ◊ Ecological Strategies for All Ages & Abilities (found below), and made them available through this FACET.

64 CARDS ◊ Ecological Strategies for All Ages & Abilities

A free and hyper-accessible Visionary Ecology learning tool which inspires with versatile and practical uses.

The 64 CARDS is a FREE ecological resource — Each card represents a universal, time-tested strategy which nature uses to enhance life, therefore the wisest approaches humans can learn to embody. Designed for All Ages & Abilities education, the set supports ecological mindset, strategic mindset and pattern literacy aka pattern language recognition. These 64 centering, low-contrast images and the grounding practices that accompany them are rooted in the language of geometry - that which composes the DNA of life itself. Modelled after the Fibonacci Golden Ratio, these images are designed to convey each strategy without reliance on verbal or written language. Whether used physically or digitally, the cards invite intuitive exploration and connections of co-educational empowerment. A companion to THE UNITY LIFE COLORING BOOK, this set is an inclusive tool for expanding ability — not by labeling difference, but by appreciating our shared capacity to simbiotically learn and evolve together.

Whether used by infants exploring the relevance of shapes, children or youth of any age, mentally challenged, sensory impaired, neurodivergent etc, etc, learning impaired, elders or advanced, this set meets you at your ability level. Use it alone or in groups for meditation, journaling, mixed ability education settings, therapeutic work, artistic inspiration, divination, goal setting, curriculum design, and more. The calming, low contrast greyscale aesthetic is ideal for visual focus and home printing accessibility. Each card includes a geometric image which conveys the strategy even without use of the title or description — using a simple, 3 question guided study. The title word to define and explore can be enough for any age or ability. Optionally, there is also a written description for advanced readers. And for those inclined, a corresponding I Ching hexagram allows for expansive contemplation work.

Herstory of The 64 CARDS

THE 7 OF 9 HAS INSPIRED A MASSIVE DESIGN TRANSFORMATION TO THE 64 CARDS

This project has been planned for a very long time and may take quite a while to be done, but I am planning to redesign The 64 CARDS. Previously, the plan has been to visually upgrade 32 out of 64 of the cards to a more aesthetically pleasing yet just as educational geometric design. However, new revelations of producing dye cut geometric designs (stencils) over holographic gold material for The 7 of 9 has inspired a new plan to also make sure the designs for The 64 CARDS are stencil friendly for this type of production when they get upgraded. Along with this, I've decided to make the backs into a design which slightly resembles The 72 FACETS (IN 144) and The 7 of 9 — many diamonds (or possibly triangles — we will see) on a grid with visually pleasing margins between them. The amount of shapes that are there will count up to the numbering of the card, to indicate the card number. This will support young people who are learning how to count as an All Ages & Abilities educational feature. There will also be the card title in stencil friendly writing. This is quite a design challenge, but I'm confident that I can do this. Correspondingly, the Quick-Start Guide PDF which instructs the use of The 64 CARDS will be also displayed on the website for an online format option, as inspired by the evolution of The 7 of 9. In moving towards that reality, I have recently added 3 new info rich online galleries of The 64 CARDS. These will also be added to the instructional PDF as one upgrade, just with small icons of each card and info to support quick reference.

8 SEALS OF VISIONARY ECOLOGY ARCHIVAL INDEX GALLERY

Below, there are 8 cards surrounding 8 colored designs (as viewed on desktop), making 64. These 8 card groups and their color coding pattern each represent themes of the world of ecological design which has inspired this set — These are called The 8 SEALS of Visionary Ecology. Search for the colorful crystaline eyes to read about each category. This is just an example of how you can create your own card groupings, with your own customized themes. Your custom card groups can be about any topic at all, and they do not have to involve 8 groups of 8. This could be done to support work or learning units, inspirations about your life or any creative projects, etc.

THE 7 OF 9 HAS INSPIRED A DESIGN CHANGE TO THE 64 CARDS

The 7 of 9 ⨺ SOLVE COAGULA Mind Map System (Prototype) is a new card system prototype found through the main navigation bar of the website. It is called a system rather than a set of cards, because it includes within it many sets of cards. One feature of the new system is that, as an optional layer, The 64 CARDS can be integrated into the process of its use. The 7 of 9 features a game board of 9 diamond shapes, within each, 2 triangular cards can be placed. Diamond cards could be placed into these areas to explore card implications. When designing the prototype, ensuring that each card would be a perfect equilateral triangle, I realized that to my surprise, The 64 CARDS are not actually composed of that exact geometry.

ORIGINAL 2017 PROTOTYPE FOR THE 64 CARDS (WITH GALLERY)

The original prototype for The 64 CARDS ◊ Ecological Strategies for All Ages & Abilities was developed in 2017. While the final system has been complete and available for many years, this page marks the first time the prototype itself is being publicly documented. In time, this space will be expanded to include deeper reflections on the development and long-term significance of the work.

The 64 CARDS DISPLAY AT THE SUNNYCREST MALL

This 6 min video captures a beautiful 5-month public display of the 64 CARDS (alongside the UNITY LIFE COLORING BOOK) at SunnyCrest Mall in Gibsons, BC, Canada, complete with an incredibly fascinating story behind how this came to manifest, during an earlier chapter when the project carried the GAIACRAFT name. Though I’ve since fully rebranded under UNITY LIFE Mystery School and now use the term Visionary Ecology rather than Permaculture, this installation remains a monumentally historic and powerfully beautiful chapter of the story.
