Right now, I'm stabilizing my calorie intake (aka keeping them at the same level). And as part of that, I've been eating carefully most days and allowing myself to go crazy on weekends eating much more. But this week, I decided to skip the weekend binge and instead just have more carbs every day.
Doing that increased my workout endurance by a very noticeable amount. In the back of my mind I always knew it was probably a lot healthier to do things that way but I never wanted to. But at this point, I'm thinking about keeping it this way, and just accepting that dinners with friends should be at home in a more calorie controlled way. That's not easy for me socially but I am drawn to it as a lifestyle considering how much it's supporting my physical endurance. I don't think I can deal with eating less at restaurants, so I can't go. I better not be tempted. But that sucks. Still, it won't be that way forever, since with time, I can slowly increase my metabolism.
I think my metabolism is improving, and I think managing my diet this way is part of the reason. I've also noticed good things in that department since I started doing this with the daily carbs. But it's only been a week, so I'll have to watch and see. In a month or two I'll assess if I can increase my calorie intake without gaining weight. I've gained a couple pounds since I increased and then stabilized my calorie intake using a lot of added exercise to balance it out, and that's not good, but it could be a lot worse, that's for sure. I'm relieved because if it weren't for the knowledge of metabolism that I've gained, I would be fat right now. So fat </3.
