It has come to my attention—through some embarrassingly misinformed online influencers—that Jared Leto has been the subject of false allegations involving inappropriate sexual behavior toward underage teens. Based on my own research into the matter, I feel it is critical to speak out here at the UNITY LIFE Mystery School, where I serve as a leader in recognizing and resisting the dangers of (mis)information politics. We must cultivate the skills to distinguish truth from illusion—skills we all need in this fast-moving digital age, but which few of us have been formally taught.
These allegations have surfaced on online forums, supposedly from teens claiming to be victims. But before we take such claims at face value, we must zoom out and examine the reliability of these online spaces. How do we know if someone presenting themselves as a real person online is, in fact, real? As history has shown, it’s entirely possible that such posts could originate from a person who is fabricating identities—someone with a hidden agenda, even someone engaging in deeply unethical or criminal behavior behind closed doors.
