I'm recovering more and more each day after the surgery, but definitely won't be able to work for a little while, and I'm not sure how long. I've been on a major watch for my temperature or any signs of infection around the incisions or any nausea or feintness and stuff, and I haven't had those issues. I had been feeling better from the symptoms I had associated with anemic low blood count before the surgery, perhaps thanks to all the fuids, or whatever — but my nervous system has been wired from the hospital so it's hard to really say.
I still feel fine, but my period started yesterday and due to fibroids this particular period was an extreme amount of blood, like such an unmanageable and abnormal amount of bleeding. Last month was pretty similar and that's the first time I've had that, last month. But anyway, loss of blood from menstruation really sucks for low blood count and it can potentially indicate risk if it continues to be major. I had quite a huge unexpected mess to clean up for a while but then the blood flow stopped and calmed down. I mean, considering all the factors, periods can be a bit episodic like this. But the point is, if this kind of bleeding comes back as a ridiucluos amount AND I'm feeling way tired and completely sleepy and all weakened, that's a bit alarming and I'll look into what I can do about that. I want to avoid going out to seek medical attention when in this condition as much as I can, but if it looks really serious, I'll be sure to follow up.
My stomach looked about 5 or 6 months pregnant, especially on the lower part, when I got home. It was quite alarming. But now it's gone down to something like a regular distention say if I had regular inflammation or had eaten a lot or whatever. Or something kinda like that, you know. Now that I'm having my period, I really am looking forward to getting rid of the fluid retention because that one issue had massively exaggerated the experience for me so far. At the hospital I felt like my whole body was jiggling with water so much more than I'm used to. It's also been very helpful to bowel movement being free flowing and ensured that the digestive system is really clearing up well, which always feels good each month, but especially now.
My sleep has been like around 7 hours a night since I got only 2.5 hours of sleep a night at the hospital for 2 nights, except for an extra nap I got yesterday which I felt helped a lot with my health.
I was totally worried about a cold starting but thankfully by dosing a lot of probiotics as my usual approach to developing colds, I think my body fought off whatever that was. Thank God because a cold is the last thing I need right now. I'm still a little congested but it's not looking like a cold is on the way, coming in, going to take over. Of course that threat is heavy with so much antibiotics taken which remove the barrier to viruses.
I still feel sensitive around the stomach area, like you know, having a laptop's weight sitting flat on my stomach for a long time like an hour will definitely start to make me feel unwell until I remove that pressure. That's just Day 4 and I am sure it will be so much better every day in that department. I'm still not lying down on my stomach to sleep but now that I can sleep on my side, I'm able to sleep comfortably, so things are getting very bearable. And I'm taking tylenol way less for pain now too.
I'd say I've overall been in fairly surprisingly good spirits since the hospital. Emotionally I do feel more stable than before. It's not perfect at all but I'm definitely not getting into deep cesspools of hopelessness so far. I am aggravataed by stress and concern about the upcoming fistula and financial stuff, but doing alright just forcing those worries aside so that I can cope with here now.
Oh and about the other abscess, it is a bit painful and the cystic centre of the area is filling as a cyst filling, not as a painful infected abscess filling, but right now nothing of an emergency with the abscess, only threatening because of the pain. I have an ultrasound on the 31st and I think the condition it's in right now is probably even better for the ultrasound to study it right now. Here's hoping the ultrasound can verifyably give some reading true or false to a fistula. It's possible it could but if it's not sure one way or another, it's less helpful to the question of investigative surgery. I look forward to hearing from my doctor about the issue of getting an MRI soon enough to handle all this without investigative surgery.
